Imbolc blessings to you! ✨

Persephone is beginning her journey back from the underworld. She brings with her the kind of wisdom that can only be gathered from the darkest depths of winter. Grandmother wisdom. Grief wisdom. Deep earth wisdom. The wisdom of the life-death-rebirth cycle.

Here in the Northern hemisphere we are just starting to experience the early waning of winter and the return of light.

This time of year promises the first glimmers of spring - the miracles of fertility, gestation, awakening, new life.

And I can feel the power of the earth’s awakening present inside of our own awakening from colonial indoctrination. Can feel the earth’s power and support as we declare and demand a new world. A world without white supremacist / capitalist state violence. A world with clean air and clean water again. A world built on the preciousness of life. A world that reflects humanity. Our true humanity. Which is to say a world that reflects soul and the sacred.

Traditionally Imbolc marks the initiation of spring. And a new journey around the seasonal wheel. The word, Imbolc, translates to “in the belly” in Gaelic. This was inspired by the seeds that were beginning to stir inside the belly of the earth and inside the wombs of animals.

Imbolc is a special celebration on the Celtic calendar, but this time of year has been honored by cultures all over the world for thousands of years. It’s the exact halfway point between the winter solstice and the spring equinox. Animals are awakening and coming out of hibernation. Life force inside of seeds are stirring as they begin their dance toward the sun.

This is one of my favorite earth calendar holidays because we get to be blessed by the fertile and pregnant earth. We get to be in awe of the divine glimmers of new life. We get to remember the power of our own awakening. With our dreams in tow, we too begin a new dance with our earth and star.

Let us remember that we are the magic we’ve been waiting for. We are the glowing seeds of the new world.

Earth Body is part practice space, part women’s circle, and all things embodied spirituality. The Fool and The Star 💫

The Fool starts us off on our journey. Before anything else, we must say “yes” to the adventure. Without a map of where we are going or how to get there, the Fool is our guide and reminds us that we have wings growing from our hearts and life force in our lungs and we are ready to take the leap toward our soul’s aliveness.

Imbolc falls right in the middle of Aquarius season. And Aquarius is connected to the Star in the Tarot. This card says, “lean back, rest your head on the earth and look up at the night sky. Do you see them? Your desires - they’re in good hands, planted with the stars. Have faith and remember the cosmic love you come from.”

The Empress and The Seed 🌱

The Empress is the archetype of the womb, the seed, the navel of the body. Empress holds us in the energy of radical receiving. And reflects back to us our birthright to receive all that we need to grow and thrive, our limitless potential, our blueprint for wholeness, worthiness, and love.

This card invites you to sense your needs clearly and receive your needs fully by connecting your inner most self - your seed self, to your roots. Empress is always here to remind you that you are of the earth, and you get to take back what’s always been there, your right to be held, fed, and nourished by life.
